1974- now

Founded in 1974, Ballincollig AFC has grown from humble beginnings with a single team into one of the most respected and successful football clubs in Munster. For over five decades, the club has been at the heart of the Ballincollig community, providing generations of players with the opportunity to enjoy football in an environment built on friendship, respect, and sporting excellence.
Throughout our history, Ballincollig AFC has earned a reputation for developing talented footballers while remaining true to the values of a community club. From schoolboys and schoolgirls football through to youth, junior and senior levels, the club has consistently competed at the highest standards within the Munster Senior League, Cork Youth Leagues, and Cork Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Leagues.
Success has followed every generation of Ballincollig AFC players. Over the years, the club has collected numerous league titles and cup honours at both provincial and national level, achievements that reflect the dedication of our players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters. Many of our former players have gone on to represent Ireland at underage and senior international level, while others have enjoyed successful professional careers in Ireland, England, Australia, and the United States. Their achievements remain a source of immense pride and form an important part of the club's rich legacy. Developing the next generation has always been central to the club's philosophy.
Our Academy welcomes boys and girls from the age of five, introducing young players to football in a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment. For many, it is the first step on a journey that continues through every age group within Ballincollig AFC.
The club proudly calls The Landing Field its home. Steeped in local history, the ground takes its name from the aircraft that once landed in the area during the military presence at the nearby Powder Mills. Alongside Ballincollig Regional Park, these facilities have been home to countless matches, memorable victories, and lifelong friendships, while continuing to provide first-class opportunities for players of all ages.
The continued growth of Ballincollig AFC has only been possible through the commitment of volunteers and the unwavering support of our members, sponsors, families, and the wider community. Every committee member, manager, coach, fundraiser, and volunteer has played a role in shaping the club's history. Their dedication has ensured that each generation leaves the club stronger than they found it.
Today, Ballincollig AFC continues to look towards the future while remaining proud of its past. The values established in 1974 continue to guide the club as we strive to provide opportunities for every player, invest in our facilities, and build on a legacy that has made Ballincollig AFC one of Cork's leading community football clubs.
As we continue our journey, we honour those who laid the foundations of the club, celebrate those who have represented the green and white with distinction, and look forward with confidence to the generations who will write the next chapter in the proud history of Ballincollig AFC.
